Located at 12755 Danielson Ct, Poway, CA 92064, Walter Andersen Nursery-Poway operates as a garden center serving Poway in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

In Poway, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in California, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Poway is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Poway follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Great experience at this nursery! I stopped in recently to purchase some tomato plants for summer growing. Staffer Stacey was incredibly helpful and not only walked me through some good options, but also gave super helpful gardening advice! Checkout was easy and the checker even had a staffer come out to the parking lot to load heavy items into my car, which I really appreciated! In short, every single person I interacted with here was helpful, friendly, professional and courteous. A+++!

Had a wonderful experience here, so many plants to see and my favorites were the vegetable gardens. They had so many plants and plant varieties. While I was there the fruit trees and flowers looked to be the more popular sections. Every time we turned the corner there was something to be seen. The whimsical train was such a sight with its endless displays as well. The plants worked into it were very inspirational for a fairy garden. The hens in the back were also so cute. I also have to point out how they also have a wide variety of pond plants! The last time I looked for them my brother and I searched tons of nurseries and found nothing. It was amazing that they not only had them but also had such a good healthy variety. Next time I'm building an enclosure pond for guppies and rice fish I now know where to go. I loved this place and thought it was perfect for getting in my daily steps. I will definitely be coming back.

An amazing nursery that has tons of choices in flowers, shrubs, trees, for indoor or outdoor use. I have used them for planting decorative trees on our land in Ramona, as well as gifts for family and friends. They also have a wide variety of soils and plant care tools and products for any application. The pot and planter selection is great and they do deliver! Thanks to the knowledgeable staff for patiently answering my many questions when recently buying an office plant for my daughter’s new job, and delivering it right in time, You guys are the best!

Beautiful to walk through, huge selection. Prices are on The high side but the quality and selection are what you pay for. Neat model train setup, also have a chicken coop. It’s fun to explore. I was looking for a olive tree and there was so much there I was lost. 4 stars cause prices are higher and could not find anyone to help.

Great gardening store and nursery. I don't live very close to this store but occasionally make the trip because it has so much more than our local nurseries. They have a ton of trees, succulents, vegetables, herbs, landscaping plants, and even unique plants that I don't see too often, like Angel's Trumpet. Bonsai, or water plants for ponds. A main motivator of my drive, though, is that they have a fairly large selection of California native and drought tolerant plants. Each plant has great information, not just about size and care but about the importance to wildlife or native people. I don't find their herb or vegetable selection to be as large as some other nurseries, but they do have way more trees than other places. Inside the store they have all kinds of garden decor, fertilizers and tools for the garden, and seeds. Important to me, they carry seeds from The San Diego Seed company, so I can buy seeds that are adapted or selected for this area in particular. My kids favorite area is the train. They have an amazing train set at this location, and they even decorate it for the holidays! The train conductors/operators are so friendly and seems to genuinely enjoy visiting with
